App and included handbook to help you widen your repertoire of classroom techniques and plan your lessons faster.

The menu approach offers teachers and learning assistants a wide range of techniques to use under each of the following headings:
• Sharing the objectives and learning outcomes
• Classroom management techniques (seating, groupings, ground rules etc)
• Engaging, hooking learners at the beginning of lessons/new topics
• Building literacy and the use of key vocabulary
• Participation in asking or answering questions
• Developing tasks/activities for deeper understanding
• Embedding differentiation to ensure all make progress from their starting points
• Evidencing progress within and at the end of a series of lessons
• Using and evidencing feedback, oral and written to show progress
• Reviewing learning at the end of lessons (or when appropriate in a sequence of lessons).

The menu approach can be used in conjunction with any lesson planning format or on the proverbial ‘back of an envelope’ where no such forms are required. Lesson planning will take only minutes with this handbook as a guide.
